Temporary Storage of Nuclear Waste Central

Over recent days at the end of an obstacle course in which various municipalities in Spain are struggling to become the welcoming of the future central temporary storage of nuclear waste in our country.
The idea of \u200b\u200bhaving a warehouse to house the waste generated by our nuclear plants is fully defensible against the current status of generating plants that will store the waste they generate.
is, in my view, the less clear the system chosen to search for the location of the installation. Demographic problems, the crisis of rural depopulation or suffered by our people can not determine, only the location of a store or not waste is waste that does not forget nuclear. It seems technically sound
choose the possible location of a center of these characteristics on a number of technical and safety conditions. Namely, without wishing to be exhaustive ...
• Properties geological terrain. A waste facility of this nature should be able to ensure stringent sealing characteristics, which although in part be achieved with artificial elements (geo-drains, sheet waterproofing, bentonite compounds ...), must have intrinsic properties from layers of clay, subsoil characteristics, faults, etc ...
• Minimizing transport. Radioactive waste will be transported, possibly by road or rail from the Power Plants to the Storage Center. It seems necessary to study sites based on the minimization of the routes, depending on the security and the characteristics of roads to use.
meteorological conditioning. The location of the store should have taken into account the presence of prevailing winds in the area that can accelerate the dispersion of radioactive leak case and the rainfall in the area to prevent contamination of aquifers of interest.
• Minimizing affected population in case of accident . Not be discarded in any case the small chance of occurrence of a failure to install and therefore leakage of radioactivity into the surrounding environment. The number of possible affected population in this case and distances to major population centers should be studied as well.
security measures necessary and possible . The storage facility would become a facility of strategic interest that should have security measures and specific media. The location of the media along with the possibility of specific actions are also points to consider in the decision process.

not know the whole process being pursued behind closed doors of the centers of decision. But hopefully common sense will prevail to the economic and political interests of some.

MEASURES SERVICE ACTIVITIES IN CASTILLA Y LEÓN.

The newsletter Castilla y León official of December 26, 2009 published Decree Law 3 / 2009 of 23 December, on measures to boost the activities in Castilla y León Services , in order to adapt legislation to the new regional character legislative framework for free access to activities and exercising.

From our point of view, without wishing to be exhaustive, we highlight some points of interest.
substantially Amendment Act 8 / 1997 of 8 July, the Professional Associations of Castilla y León , forcing, for example, to dispose of page web and stop service, issuing an annual report of the activities or have a visa service of the professional work performed by its collegiate .(¿?)
Amends Law 11/2003 of 8 April, Environmental prevention of Castilla y León . Particularly noteworthy is the deletion of paragraphs 2 and 3 of Article 47, which established the technical requirements and equipment editors of Environmental Impact Studies, going to have a single paragraph that states that studies environmental impact must be made by writers who possess the qualifications, skills and experience enough. Seems to understand already known are not necessary Impact Assessment courses and accreditation assessment teams for the preparation of studies.
Amends Law 5 / 2009, dated June 4, Noise Castilla y León, establishing new conditions of Supreme Acoustic Assessment (SEA) for the exercise of their activity.
Amends Law 3 / 1990 of March 16, Industrial Safety Castilla y León, directly repealing sections 8 and 9. These articles set out the conditions that the inspection agencies and regulatory control should have to do work inspection and control.
major changes are coming.
